Is Trance Having Another Moment in 2026?
Is trance coming back? Trance never left. Trance will always be with you.
Every few years someone asks if trance is “coming back”, which is always funny because trance fans never actually left. They were just in a field somewhere arguing about whether the remix was better than the original.
Still, these recent years have seen a massive resurgence in trance.. From new breakthough artists, older artists coming back to trance (cough Tiesto cough) and we're all here for it!
You can see it in festival bookings, classics sets, progressive sounds creeping back into bigger lineups, and younger crowds discovering tracks that older fans have been emotionally attached to for about 19 years. The sound is not returning as one neat thing either. It is coming back in pieces: uplifting, tech trance, progressive, faster rave edits, nostalgic vocal moments, and that big euphoric sound that makes people point at the ceiling even when there is no ceiling.
We're BIG into uplifting, euphoric, 138 bangers and we've been blessed with the likes of Factor B (seen him live 13 times now!), Craig Connelly, Daxson, John O'Callaghan, Billy Gillies, Cold Blue, James Dymond, Lostly, Paul Denton, Asteroid, Metta & Glyde, Sneijder and SO MANY MORE either breaking though, or growing into artists getting the recognition they deserve!
And that's just uplifting 138.. It's the same in every other sub-genre of trance. And we've not even touched on the big headline names that are still pumping out tune after tune.
We think part of it is simple: people want emotion back in dance music... After years of functional drops and short attention-span edits, trance still offers something a bit different. It lets a track breathe. It builds. It earns the payoff. It gives you that ridiculous moment where the kick drops back in and suddenly everyone forgets their knees are not 21 anymore.
And as much as it makes us feel old, we can't ignore there is also a generational loop happening. Younger ravers are finding older sounds through TikTok, festival clips, YouTube sets and playlist rabbit holes, while older fans are realising they still very much want to be involved, even if recovery now takes three business days.
So is trance making a comeback in 2026? Kind of. But the better answer is this: trance is becoming visible again.
