Birmingham & Midlands Trance Events 2026 / 2027: Heritage & Woodlands
The Midlands is holy ground when it comes to British trance history.
This is where Godskitchen conquered the world from Birmingham. This is where ravers travelled from every corner of the British Isles on a Friday afternoon just to cram onto the sweaty wooden floor at The Emporium in Coalville for PaSSion. And today, the Midlands is home to the most unique outdoor party in the entire country: Trance In The Woods.
Whether you are camping under old Sherwood Forest oak trees in Nottinghamshire or getting properly stuck into a warehouse tear-up in Digbeth, the Midlands trance family is welcoming, completely unpretentious, and ready for a laugh. Below is our guide to the standout Birmingham and Midlands trance events locked in for 2026 and 2027, with official Skiddle ticket links.

1. Trance In The Woods 2027 - Sherwood Forest
Forget generic concrete festival sites or boring flat cow fields. Trance In The Woods is hands down one of the coolest weekenders in the entire UK rave calendar.
Set right in the heart of historic Sherwood Forest at Thoresby Park, you pitch your tent amongst ancient trees and spend three days dancing under lasers shooting through illuminated woodland canopies. Across multiple bespoke stages, you get everything from driving 140+ tech-trance and uplifting to sun-drenched progressive and hard trance.
The vibe is 100% grassroots. No VIP nonsense, no velvet ropes, just proper music lovers, cracking sound systems, and a weekend with your mates that you will be talking about all winter.
Midlands Rave Advice & Travel
Thoresby Park: Easily reached off the A1 and M1 in Nottinghamshire. There are official shuttle buses running from nearby train stations (Newark Northgate and Retford) right into the festival gates.
Birmingham Digbeth: Just a 10-minute walk from Birmingham New Street station. Packed with great street food markets and craft beer spots for pre-drinks before the bass kicks off.
